About HSA

PLEASE NOTE: We have MOVED! Check out our new website at texashsa.wix.com/longhornhsa.

Hindu Students Association (HSA) is an organization that focuses on bringing Hindu culture and traditions to college campuses and on developing awareness of Hinduism within communities throughout the country.

Every year HSA holds several free events that are open to the entire university and the surrounding communities. In addition to these events, there are weekly meetings to further explore Sanatana Dharma and to learn what it means to be a Hindu in the midst of the busy college life.

Vision of HSA

For tomorrows’ more empowered representation at colleges and to better address the growing needs of the younger Hindus, the Hindu Students Association derives its vision from the texts of Sanatana Dharma.
  • “The entire creation is one family.” (Rig Veda)
  • “The wise sees knowledge and action as one; they see truly.” (Bhagvad Gita)
  • “Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is reached.”
  • “May our mind be inclined towards virtuous deeds, acquiring strength and long-life.” (Yajur Veda)

Goals of HSA

  • To empower young Hindu adults through education, service (seva), and devotion
  • To cultivate and foster cross-cultural dialogue and interaction on issues that pertain to Hindus domestically and globally
  • To improve the level of representation at colleges/universities, with organizational activities and participation in other organizations and media
  • To build a network amongst young Hindus in America
